Summary: Orphans entries in Buddy List

Initial Comment:
I have three entries in my Buddy List that duplicate
themselves into a new group called "Orphans". These
duplicate entries do not work (ie, don't light up when
the user is online), but the original entries do work.

When I look at the blist.xml, it shows the entries in a
group called "Orphans", and each person's id has ^M
after it.

I have deleted this group from within gaim, and also
from the blist.xml, with no success.

I have copied the buddy lists from windows, but have
run "dos2unix" on each of the original buddy lists, so
am not sure where the ^M comes from or why the other
entries work!

Help please!

I don't see this bug any more in the latest version. Didn't
even remember that this task was still open!!

Thanks.

This bug is fixed in the most recent version of Gaim. If you are
not using the lastest version, please upgrade. If you are using
the latest version, please indicate so and reopen this bug.

You can successsfully delete your orphaned buddies from
within Gaim every time. However, there is no garuntee they
won't come back the next time you login.

There was (is?) a feature in linux gaim (at some point) to
remove orphans, but absent that:

The most effective, simplist solution I have come across is to
verify your blist.xml file (make sure all your buddies are there)
and then close Gaim and open AIM Quick Buddy:

http://www.aim.com/other/quick_buddy.adp

Login with ALL your AIM screen names and delete
EVERYTHING (buddies, blocklist, etc. - everything).
Logout. Launch Gaim.

Entire process takes ~2 minutes.

I have had this orphans group on my buddy list as well (in 0.57 and 0.60), but it had no
buddies in it. I have deleted it a number of times successfully.
