Summary: Suddenly no sign-on screen in XP

Initial Comment:
I have been using gaim in windows XP for a while now,
but recently it stopped working. Now when I try to
start gaim, it acts like it's loading, but no window
ever appears. The process does load, and if I try to
start gaim again I am warned that an instance of gaim
is already running.

I tried uninstalling gaim and GTK and reinstalling both
with the newest versions, and it didn't change anything.

Any ideas as to what might be going on? I'm tired of
using Trillian.
