Summary: Write error / Writing error on sign-in

Initial Comment:
I'm new to Gaim and am trying to sign into MSN IM and
Google Talk. When Gaim tries to sign on to both of
these, I get error windows. The same thing occurs in
1.5.0 and 2.0.0 beta 2.

The Google talk error window is titled
"user@domain/Gaim disconnected" and says "Write error."

The MSN IM error window is titled "user@domain
disconnected" and says "Connection error from
Notification server: Writing error."

I have the MSN IM client running currently so I know
the firewall is letting my traffic out. An associate of
mine on our network is running Gaim 1.5.0 and is able
to sign into MSN fine. Also, I disabled the Windows
firewall, and there is no change in the behavior.

The system log is just full of entries like:
---- +++ user@domain signed off @ 2/27/2006 8:51:14 AM ----

Any ideas? Thanks.

Yes. I have GIMP 2.2.10 with the GTK+ 2.8.9 runtime
environment. I wondered if that was related.

Did you upgrade to GTK+ 2.8.x?
