Category: win32 Group: None Status: Open Priority: 5 Submitted By: Scott Smith (sasmith_oz) Assigned to: Christopher (siege) O'Brien (taliesein) Summary: Meanwhile Support (win32) Initial Comment: Since installing Gaim 2.0 Beta 1, I lost the Meanwhile support. What is required to enable this protocol? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- >Comment By: Scott Smith (sasmith_oz) Date: 2005-12-24 11:58 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=1407909 I removed the libmwgain.dll file and it is still not working. I removed Gaim and then did a re-install and getting this error message - "The procedure entry point gaim_conversation_present could not be located in the dynamic link library gaim.dll" Gaim starts, but there is no meanwhile/sametime support. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Christopher (siege) O'Brien (taliesein) Date: 2005-12-24 09:55 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=77326 get rid of libmwgaim.dll (which is the old filename for the sametime plugin) ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Scott Smith (sasmith_oz) Date: 2005-12-24 09:20 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=1407909 I have downloaded the zip file and placed the dll files in the following locations: libmeanwhile-1.dll - gaim main directory libsametime.dll - gaim/plugins I am still getting the initial error message - "The procedure entry point gaim_conv_window_show could not be located in the dynamic link library gaim.dll". Is there anything else I need to do? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Christopher (siege) O'Brien (taliesein) Date: 2005-12-24 05:41 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=77326 the sametime plugin has been bundled up and can be downloaded from the following location. http://preoccupied.net/~siege/meanwhile/files/win32/gaim-meanwhile-2.0.0beta1-win32.zip This was done rather than re-releasing the win32 beta1 installer to avoid confusion. Any later win32 releases will include the sametime plugin automatically. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Christopher (siege) O'Brien (taliesein) Date: 2005-12-21 07:47 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=77326 Of course it does. As has already been stated, the win32 build just doesn't have it enabled. Someone will have to rebuild the win32 binaries with it enabled. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Scott Smith (sasmith_oz) Date: 2005-12-21 07:31 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=1407909 As per the release notes for Beta1: Other Protocol Changes: * Sametime protocol support So does Beta1 support Sametime/Meanwhile or not? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Scott Smith (sasmith_oz) Date: 2005-12-19 13:48 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=1407909 Yes, I meant win32 (sorry I was not clear). As per the Gaim 2.0 Beta 1 release notes - Siege: Sametime accounts created with gaim-meanwhile should merge over for use in the beta just fine. Some of the familiar settings regarding the buddy list are gone, so I recommend backing up your Sametime blist before getting down and crazy. Have fun, and happy early Decemberween! This indicates that nothing special is required. Now you are saying there is. Can you please clarify the Meanwhile support in the Gaim release notes? Also, do I need to raise a "bug" with the Meanwhile project team? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Christopher (siege) O'Brien (taliesein) Date: 2005-12-19 13:04 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=77326 You mentioned gaim.dll so I suppose that means win32. The win32 Gaim 2.0.0beta1 build does not currently enable the Meanwhile plugin. Meanwhile should build in a cross-compile environment just fine, and there's really no reason not to include it along, either as an additional dll or linked in statically. Just need to get someone who does win32 builds to do it... ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Scott Smith (sasmith_oz) Date: 2005-12-19 11:33 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=1407909 Removed the gaim directory after de-installing and then re- installed. The error message has gone away so it appears that the problem was linked to the old Meanwhile plugin that was not de-installed. However, Meanwhile is still not an available option. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Scott Smith (sasmith_oz) Date: 2005-12-19 11:27 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=1407909 On starting Beta 1, I get the error "The procedure entry point gaim_conv_window_show could not be located in the dynamic link library gaim.dll" I am not sure this issue is linked to the Meanwhile problem. I will remove the Gaim software (plus the meanwhile support) and re-install. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=200235&aid=1384741&group_id=235 ------------------------------------------------------- This SF.net email is sponsored by: Splunk Inc.
