Initial Comment:
Receiving the error below attempting to compile GAIM 
using Compaq C [Standard ANSI C]. Everything else 
compiles without a hitch but this error is a stopper.

I did attempt to remark out the following reference in 
config.h
/* Define to 1 if you have the <stdarg.h> header file. */
/* define HAVE_STDARG_H 1 */

but the error continues, its as if the option is ignored...

make sure you are building gaim with the same compiler that
gtk was compiled against.

va_copy should be provided by one of the standard library
headers.
