It was brought up at https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/fontconfig/fontconfig/-/issues/375 Hmm, FcFontSort()... that is a tough problem. They use different matching functions in the first place. I sometimes think of a better way to get an inclusive/exclusive list of fonts which can't be done in FcFontSort() at the moment. that should be the same root cause of it. However, changing behavior may not be realistic. We may need a new API for that.
