I added glyph scanning because there were a few fonts with incorrect
cmaps. Essentially what I found was that vendors were sub-settings fonts
by stripping out the shapes while leaving the cmap intact.

I understand why it was added, but hoping that many many years later, we can actually remove it and call font bugs what they are: bugs.
