fontconfig doesn't distinguish light weight from medium weight

[fontconfig@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx (Ken Joseph)]

Hi,
All my TrueType fonts with light weight are not
distinguished by fontconfig from those with medium weight,
so they all appear as medium weight.
I use precompiled fontconfig 2.2.0 on Debian unstable i386.
Please help me fix this.
