Well, the security thing is a hardware limitation.  You'll have to
wait for next-gen hardware to support VT-d (I think all of
motherboard, processor and PCI cards, though I may be wrong about
this).  There is some experimental support for VT-d in the latest Xen,
but not in RHEL 5.
