Ignored is not the correct term. It was requested as a nice-to-have for F15 ... and it fell off the maintainers radar. Also, it seems I forgot to keep nagging them about it. We'll likely have this in 'updates' in time, and disaster will be averted. > In this case, I think, the > release criteria needs to be defined to state clearly that logging needs > to function properly. I don't think anything sinister is happening here ... this just fell off peoples radars. Thank you for raising this issue. > The bug also mentions the workaround will be "clearly documented". As usual, that documentation would occur on the CommonBugs page (https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Common_F15_bugs). We typically don't start processing those until after the release has been blessed. That page has instructions in the event anyone wants to add their own content. > This brings me to my next rant topic: > Is preupgrade considered an 'official' method of upgrading between > releases? I assume they will be broken as well. No drastic action needed ... preupgrade has been, and continues to be, documented as the official upgrade mechanism. http://docs.fedoraproject.org/en-US/Fedora/14/html/Installation_Guide/ch19s02.html (Yes, this is the F14 link ... I don't have the F15 link handy ... but that doesn't mean it isn't supported in F15). Thanks, James
