The ability to respin the official spins was discussed at the Spins meeting @ FUDCon Tempe. There wasn't real consensus on whether it would happen or not, although it was considered it was a good idea as fixes that minor spins depend on sometimes get blocked in the lead up to release. From memory it was discussed giving the spins the option to respin around a month after release.
