Ford was the tablet to the day's traditional desktop (not sure what anology to use with Diesel). If the traditional horse is to die, let it die on its own, and let tablet interfaces replace it. Consumers will happily move over at their own pace. I am well aware of the history of the automobile. The first cross country US roadtrip from San Francisco to New York relied on trains to haul tires, and blacksmiths to repair the vehicle. Let's use the traditional desktop to build the new one, but just like with cars, they did not replace horses overnight. As I said in my blog, at a technology transition you get free reign. But just try moving the location of the gas and break pedals in a traditional car. Hybrids and Electrics are the chance to fix things again - in the next wave.
