Left cable on and machine only showed gkrellm :), I got a bit of frustration and sent the message that gnome 3 was not working correctly. Sorry for the noise, It was not PEBKAC but two cables plugged in VGA and DVI, monitor uses DVI and the VGA tried to connect to a projector and both cannot work at the same time? unless we have dual capabilities or something like that?, but I unplugged the VGA cable and Gnome 3 is back.
