Could we ask laptop users to report whether their backlight control works?
It affects some laptops using all of Intel i915, Radeon and nVidia cards,
and there's a patch series from Matthew Garrett that, while not ready for
merging yet, we might consider providing in a semi-blessed alternate
kernel repo, similar to what Ubuntu is doing.
