Is there some bug report about this I could subscribe to? I don't see it among the Alpha blockers (shouldn't it be there?).

I manually updated some packages from koji unrelated to at-spi2 and it fixed the "blank desktop" that I was seeing though Shell is still taking a good 60 seconds to appear. I think that's this bug:

So a fix hasn't been uploaded to Koji yet.

Anyway, give it some time to come up before killing the server.
