That's correct. Of course, the VM is less efficient than bare metal, and since
I'm too chicken to install test releases on bare metal, I'll be using a modified
F14 system to build and test the F15 disos, until F15 Final. The modification is
pretty easy if you've already saved all the needed RPMs in a directory.

Note that this incompatibility works in reverse as well: for example, since
disos from 13->14 require the old compression, they can't be used on F15. In
that case, the easiest way to use them will probably be to do a minimal F14
install in a VM. This issue will exist until F14 goes EOL in about 10 months. I
don't know what the xz maintainer's plans are regarding future compression
changes.
