This could possibly allow local user to snoop on other user's terminal. Updated dracut no longer creates this file as device file, rather creates it a symbolic link to tty0 device file. However, for this change to take effect, user needs to re-generate initramfs (any initramfs for all kernels that are going to be booted in the future) using updated dracut version and reboot the system. This update also provides updated udev packages that replace systty device file with a symlink on udev package upgrade and each udev start. This provides a work-around fix for users that fail to regenerate their initramfs and reboot as described above. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ChangeLog: * Thu Nov 18 2010 Harald Hoyer <harald@xxxxxxxxxx> 006-4 - fix /dev/systty Resolves: rhbz#654935 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- References: [ 1 ] Bug #654489 - CVE-2010-4176 dracut: /dev/systty permissions could allow remote users to snoop on local users https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=654489 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ================================================================================ euca2ools-1.3.1-2.fc14 (FEDORA-2010-17958) Elastic Utility Computing Architecture Command-Line Tools -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Update Information: - Fix euca-bundle-image returning Odd-length string errors [LP:509562] - Fix euca-bundle-image failure to use symbolic links [LP:522292] - Fix euca-bundle-image --help yielding 'Invalid user' messages [LP:546526] - Fix rebundled instance boot failure [LP:551847] - Check a default location for Eucalyptus certificate [LP:479836] - Fix euca-describe-image-attribute --kernel or --ramdisk [LP:546551] - Fix euca-describe-images listing too many images on EC2 [LP:541468] - Fix euca-download-bundle usage message [LP:546567] - Fix failures related to a spurious space in euca-describe-images [LP:531453] - Fix euca-run-instances parameter validation [LP:546420] - Fix euca-run-instances usage message [LP:530816] -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ChangeLog: * Thu Nov 18 2010 Garrett Holmstrom <gholms@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> - 1.3.1-2 - Fix euca-bundle-image returning Odd-length string errors [LP:509562] - Fix euca-bundle-image failure to use symbolic links [LP:522292] - Fix euca-bundle-image --help yielding 'Invalid user' messages [LP:546526] - Fix rebundled instance boot failure [LP:551847] - Check a default location for Eucalyptus certificate [LP:479836] - Fix euca-describe-image-attribute --kernel or --ramdisk [LP:546551] - Fix euca-describe-images listing too many images on EC2 [LP:541468] - Fix euca-download-bundle usage message [LP:546567] - Fix failures related to a spurious space in euca-describe-images [LP:531453] - Fix euca-run-instances parameter validation [LP:546420] - Fix euca-run-instances usage message [LP:530816] -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ================================================================================ evolution-2.32.1-1.fc14 (FEDORA-2010-17956) Mail and calendar client for GNOME -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Update Information: Update to 2.32.1 upstream release. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ChangeLog: * Thu Nov 18 2010 Harald Hoyer <harald@xxxxxxxxxx> 161-7 - fix /dev/systty Resolves: rhbz#654935 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- References: [ 1 ] Bug #654489 - CVE-2010-4176 dracut: /dev/systty permissions could allow remote users to snoop on local users https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=654489 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ================================================================================ util-linux-ng-2.18-4.5.fc14 (FEDORA-2010-17948) A collection of basic system utilities -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ChangeLog: * Fri Nov 19 2010 Karel Zak <kzak@xxxxxxxxxx> 2.18-4.5 - fix #563267 - Remount fails if current mount used the "context" option -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- References: [ 1 ] Bug #563267 - Remount fails if current mount used the "context" option https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=563267 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ================================================================================ weechat-0.3.3-2.fc14.1 (FEDORA-2010-17954) Portable, fast, light and extensible IRC client -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ChangeLog: * Thu Oct 14 2010 Jesse Keating <jkeating@xxxxxxxxxx> - 0.3.3-2.1 - Rebuild for gcc bug 634757 * Sat Aug 28 2010 Paul P.
