I tried both suggestions.  With nohz=off I got what appeared to be the same crash, however, before I could photograph the trace the install actually continued.  I rebooted the system and tried with clocksource=acpi-pm and it crashed.  I have attached the photos from that run.  I wonder if the issue could be related to the DVD drive.  It took several tries before it actually booted of the DVD drive.  I would tell it to boot of the DVD drive, it sounded like it was trying to access the drive, but then I would get the grub boot menu for what's on disk.  I'll go ahead and file a bug.

Thanks...couple other things to try (separately, without the acpi=off),
then you'll have to file a bug:

nohz=off
clocksource=acpi-pm
