Anything in /var/log/messages (or dmesg) during live image initialization? If you can mount the live image filesystem from an already running system, try editing the file '/etc/udev/udev.conf' and change: udev_log="debug" This should enable debugging output for udev on startup. I've not tried this directly, but that might help identify what udev is doing that's taking time during boot. Thanks, James
