FYI, the problem is gone after I have updated to today's rawhide (9/14).
In the 9/13 rawhide it was still broken. I suspect that it was either
polkit-0.95-0.git20090913.fc12.x86_64 or
fontpackages-filesystem-1.23-1.fc12.noarch
