ECS motherboard with Intel graphics -
system>preferences>desktop effects:
clicking on "enable desktop effects" blows
out the session and dumps the user back to
the login screen. 3d games don't work.
ATI 2600xt - the ATI .run script for installing
the ATI server crashes leaving Linux inoperable.
Nvidia 9600gt - the current Nvidia .run installation
compiles but then fails, even in runlevel 3, because
it cannot load the kernel module. Is this a side
effect of kernel graphics mode setting?
Is there a boot code to bypass kernel graphics
mode setting, or is this feature stuck in the
kernel like a Drakh Keeper?
