how to stop accesses to fd0 in rawhide

what is causing the floppy accesses?  I understand that the kernel now 
contains (activated?) floppy code.  If I put a floppy in the drive, it 
stops of course, but after taking the floppy out, constant accesses 
start up again.

Very annoying.
