It is important to note that we won't necessarily be directing new users to the SOP from the 'suck them in process', but just writing something on the Join page with a subtle link to the SOP somewhere. The SOP is the 'document of official record', not necessarily the Howto. But it could be a bit friendlier, just so it doesn't put off people who happen to come across it.
