Currently running: xorg-x11-drv-ati-6.11.0-10.fc11.x86_64 kernel-2.6.29-0.237.rc7.git4.fc11.x86_64 with the system rebooted after these updates were applied. As an example of how bad the latency can be at times, trying to scroll (with the scroll wheel) up and down that bug report using Firefox, the seconds in the Gnome panel clock applet would only update every 3-4 seconds (i.e. the entire X server output freezes including graph updates of the system monitor applet).
