More a provocation than a serious question -- don't we want being
oriented on non-programmers use Jabber MUC instead of IRC? Cost
for us is minimal (there is always bitlbee, if irssi is the only
client you use) and it might be more accessible for
non-programmers. Just a weird thought.

What I know of Jabber MUC is what I read off the site, which means very
little. No compelling reason jumped out at me as to why I would want to
use jabber over irc. Can you tell me why jabber is a better choice over irc?
