These days, very little. Used to be the case that, for e.g., it was
tough to get plugins in Firefox working well in x86-64, especially
Flash, and OpenOffice.org didn't used to work as an x86-64 native build.

Just about the only significant app now that needs to be run x86-32 is
wine...
