I've tested this on two F10 and two F9 machines. Both F10 machines emit the same message as above. Ideas?


strace? I can't reproduce this on any rawhide or F10 machine I have
here...

I can:

[root@prophead ~]# ping -R golem3
ping: record route: No message of desired type

[root@prophead ~]# ping -R intranet
ping: record route: No message of desired type

[root@prophead ~]# rpm -q iputils
iputils-20071127-6.fc10.x86_64

[root@prophead ~]# cat /etc/issue
Fedora release 10 (Cambridge)
Kernel \r on an \m (\l)
