The problem is not with installing packages, but in their removal. Yum should verify that each removed item down the tree is not a shared item with another package.

Every newbie will select "Advanced" ("I'm /certainly/ an
/advanced/ user, I
can install Linux!")...

Won't help much. Self-clasification ends with everybody in the highest
level.
