Newer Kernels: Boot failed (Bug in Bugzilla)

[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index]

I installed 9.92 recently my dell latitude. Everything went well until the first boot.

The system didn't ask for the disk-encryption-password, the plymouth-progress-bar moved
and hung at the end. I rebooted, supressed rghb and quiet in in grub and found the
following messages

- Logical Volume not found (There is a Bug filed in Bugzilla, hoping this meets also my
problem)
- Boot failed

finito, basta.

I couldnt make my mkinitrd as i didnt have modules installed. I tried also a newer
kernel from koji. Same effect.

Does anybody know, if there is hope to get this resolved? I just got it running when
installing from live-cd.

I have also some sideeffects i didnt have with 3d desktopeffects, i havent had when i
installed fresh from rawhide and everything went well.

at least, with the kernel from 9.91 (livecd) i have a working system to test.
