Mount your SD card, then edit the boot/olpc.fth file, down at the bottom you'll
see a line that contains "reset_overlay" remove that option (don't remove
anything else).  It causes the overlay to reset itself on each boot.


Was that a new option, becuase I have one package (cheese) which stays around.
