vmware is installed, but it has not been (correctly) configured
for this system. To (re-)configure it, invoke the following
command:
/usr/bin/vmware-config.pl.
If so, run /usr/bin/vmware-config.pl (as root). Good luck though, recent
vmware versions have variable results, at least on x86_64 (I ended up
switching to VirtualBox).
As mentioned in another post, Workstations >= 6.5 no longer uses
vmware-config.pl: the module building is directly integrated into the
vmware executable. That has the drawback of having to run vmware as root
at least once to give it a chance to build the modules, which is
confusing.
