I have read http://fedoramagazine.wordpress.com/2008/10/21/interview-fedora-10s-better-startup/
and they suggested to put vga=0x318 on the grub command line and that worked :)

On my laptop with intel 945GM I have a new fancy boot loader screen :)

I still have no grub menu, only a black screen... is that a bug that I
should report or I should wait until intel driver gets better?

We hide the grub menu unless you hold down a key (like ctrl or alt) now (see the interview you referenced)
or if you are dual booting with a different OS.
