The silence of Rawhide on an Intel dg33bu motherboard
ALC883 seems to be in the system, not Gnome.
Audio can be made to work with an add-in sound card
once the volume is turned up. Turning up the volume
sliders for the default doesn't allow sound to get out.
Ubuntu recognizes the HDMI audio output on an ATI
video card. Rawhide does not.
Both the 32 and 64 bit libasound some with the same example.
This prevents 32 and 64 bit versions from being installed
together.
