When you start up do you see error message that cannot
open some sound device?

or you are starting from terminal

[olivares@localhost ~]$ alsamixer
*** PULSEAUDIO: Unable to connect: Connection refused
*** Is your sound server running?
*** See:
http://www.pulseaudio.org/wiki/Troubleshooting

alsamixer: function snd_ctl_open failed for default:
Connection refused
[olivares@localhost ~]$

I get the error message on 1 of 2 machines running
rawhide, but sound works otherwise. If you do not
have any sound, then it is definitely a bug.
