This means the code to handle archive formats had to be ported. Unfortunately, not all archive formats got ported to the new plugin system, in particular, the RAR and 7z plugins weren't ready in time for KDE 4.0. RAR support is coming back in KDE 4.1 (through external unrar, so luckily there's no code we can't ship inside kdeutils itself).
