Using smbpasswd -a anne does not add the user or write to the password

Yes, the newer versions use TDB. pdbedit is the tool to query the
database.
On most previous versions I have been able to see the user added to smbusers.
Now there doesn't seem to be any visual check that it has 'taken'. Do I have
to install webmin to see whether the user is recognised?
Anne
pdbedit -w -L from cli should list those users for ya...
You can also use system-config-samba ( gui )
if you are doing this on a laptop/workstation/desktop machine..
yum install system-config-samba if it's missing..
