On a not fully configured F8 installation, I get:
An error occurred
The playback of this movie requires a Microsoft Media Server (MMS)
protocol source plugin which is not installed.
and it's totem-plugin-viewer that fails to play it.

my system is a fully updated F9 with livna add-on for F9.for example this link works fine:
