I haven't tried using alternate window managers in rawhide yet, but you should
be getting some errors you can share on list in the file ~/.xsession-errors.
Also, try starting a sound player in a terminal and then play something; errors
should get printed to the terminal. With more info maybe someone can clue you
into the problem.
