As mentioned in my other mail, the patch in <https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=436702#c7>, applied to the unpacked sources of gnome-desktop-2.22.0-1.fc9.src.rpm solved the problem for me. As long as the typo/programming mistake isn't fixed, further releases will encounter the same problem eventually.
