Can you get any further if you will add 'acpi=off' to boot arguments? If yes then most likely it means that what ACPI support gets from your BIOS somewhat differs from reality. 'acpi=off' is a very big hammer and it may or may not work. There are other things to try. Help screens at least used to suggest some possibilities although I am not sure about what they do in what you are trying to use. > I could install openSuse.
