I install the i386 DVD and
i'll try x64 bits install

Did you install with one of the Live CDs/DVDs or the i386 install DVD?
(core 1 duo are 32bit procs, and the live i386 are cd format, so if you have a
dvd iso its probably the i386 install dvd, just want to be clear)

You can look in ~/.xsession-errors for the user you tried to login, and also
/var/log/Xorg.0.log and may find something useful to report there for this one.

This has been going on for awhile. I'm curious though does the reboot button
work for you and only shutdown does not?
