As far as I know it's a known issue. You can work around it by setting the
layout.css.dpi parameter in about:config to whatever size you think looks
best (I've set it to 100).

Thanks, that does set it to reasonable size (actually anything above 100 does not seem to effect it).

Do you know if this may be only a vmware issue?
