Ok,

for the meantime, I connected manually assigning an IP

using 
# ifconfig eth0 10.XXX.YYY.ZZ netmask ***.****.***
# route add default gateway ....

and I'm back, but I just reported it so that it wont
go unattended :)

Thanks to all who responded, will wait for fix in the
meantime.
