Ok. I updated with yum my f8 x86 system from updates-tesing repository  (that officially received yesterday the packages you mentioned in koji) and amarok is now able to connect, see files on my ipod and add new ones, being able then to play them by my ipod.

Ipod is nano 3rd generation with 8Gb and lsusb gives
Bus 002 Device 003: ID 05ac:1262 Apple Computer, Inc.
Also take in mind that before being able to use my ipod with amarok atually   I had to use the command:

ipod-read-sysinfo-extended /dev/sdb1 /media/IPOD

that I found into an Ubuntu forum

My updated packages were:
Dec 30 00:56:22 tekkaman yum: Installed: sg3_utils-libs - 1.23-2.fc8.i386
Dec 30 00:56:28 tekkaman yum: Updated: libgpod - 0.6.0-3.fc8.i386
Dec 30 00:56:38 tekkaman yum: Updated: kipi-plugins - 0.1.4-5.fc8.i386
Dec 30 00:56:39 tekkaman yum: Updated: libmtp - 0.2.4-1.fc8.i386
Dec 30 00:56:52 tekkaman yum: Updated: amarok - 1.4.8-1.fc8.i386
Dec 30 00:56:54 tekkaman yum: Updated: gtkpod - 0.99.12-1.fc8.i386

I set up a partition to install a rawhide and I'm going to test also with it
Thanks, Gianluca
