I tried changing the partition type of the offending FreeBSD
partition to several different values including Compaq diagnostics.
Fedora still dies with a flood of divide error interrupts.
Apparently Fedora is reading that partition and barfing,
ignoring the partition ID.
I deleted the FreeBSD partition on my Core Duo computer long
enough to update 64 bit Fedora 8.
Upon restoring the FreeBSD partition, Fedora again dies
with a flood of divide errors.
I find it disquieting from a security standpoint that something in
an unrelated partition can get to Fedora's knickers.
