Yes the system is fully up to date with f8 and I downloaded the test version
using yum --enablerepo updates-testing update wpa_supplicant and it 
pulled in the test version. So yes I did this with the new version.

I don't have an account for using bodhi but thanks for commenting
on my behalf.
