As of 5 minutes ago: [root@bigdog ~]# yum -y update Could not retrieve mirrorlist http://mirrors.fedoraproject.org/mirrorlist?repo=fedora-8&arch=x86_64 error was [Errno 14] HTTP Error 503: Service Temporarily Unavailable Error: Cannot retrieve repository metadata (repomd.xml) for repository: fedora. Please verify its path and try again Ok, not the same page, but that's from the yum.repos.d/fedora.repo file from a straight-up Fedora 8 install.
