I'm not able to get Sun's Java up and running on my laptop with F8rc3
Live i686. I downloaded the Sun rpm.bin, installed it, installed the
jpackage utilities, installed the java-1.6.0-sun-compat rpm and set
the two links to the libjavaplugin_oji.so in /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins
and /usr/lib/firefox-2.0.0.8/plugins. Still no joy.
I had problems with that too, but fc8 has an open source
java plugin... try installing java-1.7.0-icedtea-plugin or
something like that.
