Folks,
I have two identical (or at least dell claimed they were when they sent them)
machines, one of which I Installed Fedora 7 on and the other Fedora 8 Test 3.
From my interpretation of the Xorg.0.log it looks like, under F8T3, xorg
fails to find a suitable modeline and falls back to frame buffer, and that
does not work correctly as configured. Under Fedora 7 xorg would eventually
find a 1280x1024 mode that it could operate in.
I have filed a bug[1] with some chunks of info that I think are pertinent to
figuring it out.
Anyone have suggestions on how to modify grub to force a frame buffer that
should work at 1280x1024 or 1024x768 for now?
