Keep in mind the i810 driver will not work for anything greater than a 945 chipset, I'd suggest vesa it supports a much wider array of hardware.

If you can boot in rescue or text mode, you can edit /etc/X11/xorg.conf
from:
    Driver      "intel"
to:
    Driver      "i810"
or:
    Driver      "vesa"
